About the Event

'How Did I Get Here?' Men's Retreat - Saturday, April 29

For the rebellious and inquisitive man.

As men, we often struggle with discovering who we are apart from our job, and we routinely experience the loneliness of life and a lack of connection with others. This retreat is an opportunity for you to explore who you are and what you want with other men who want more out of their life and relationships, and who desire to reach their fullest potential.

What can you expect?

Plan to arrive at the Indian Creek Nature Center at 8:30am to give yourself time to enjoy the scenery, meet people and get settled before our 9am start. Worksheets, notebooks, pens and all materials, as well as lunch, dinner and drinks and snacks will be provided, so just bring yourself and be ready to enjoy the day! We will wrap the formal program and transition to dinner around 5pm and be ready to depart after some social and fire time by 8:30pm. There will be a good mix of structured and unstructured time for individual reflection, group discussion, socializing and breaks.

During our time together we will explore and discuss things like:

  • Mastering your mind and emotions
  • Reconnecting to ourselves and our intentions
  • Living in alignment with our values
  • Rethinking masculine power
  • Creating community in an independent world

You will walk away with:

A better understanding of yourself, a clearer vision for what you want out of life, deeper connections with like-minded men, as well as ideas, resources and tools you can implement to elevate fulfillment and success in your life and work.

Meet the Retreat Hosts:

Russell Creed

During the height of his career as an Actuary, Russell was diagnosed with a rare life-threatening disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. After spending 6 years on the transplant list and surviving one of the most complicated transplant surgeries, he began to examine his life. Realizing he was living an Accidental Life that he did not enjoy, he studied under a number of mentors that helped him transform his life to one he loves. Now he helps other high performing men, feeling stuck and unsatisfied with their lives, develop an Unconquerable Mindset and learn the fundamentals of neuro-hacking so that they can create extraordinary lives and become Masters of their Fate.

Rob Chenoweth

After moving his family a second time for his insurance career, Rob came face to face with the sobering truth of his misuse of power and privilege of being called husband and father and the resulting harm to his family. Naming the truth of who he had become during his marriage was a slow, painful excavation of his heart ultimately discovering that his identity was not whom he projected to others. His journey of reconstructing the life that was intended from the beginning started with facing his own story of harm, paying attention to the tension, and strengthening emotional maturity in every relationship. Today, Rob is a mentor to other facing the same challenge, helping them

to find freedom.

Travis Mullen

Travis is a husband, father (of two teenage daughters!) and friend. He has worked professionally as a Third- Grade Teacher and young adult leadership program Assistant Director. Currently, Travis works for the Meskwaki tribe as a Higher Education Advisor, and in this capacity has loved and served the Meskwaki tribe in central Iowa for nearly twenty years. He is also the Teaching Team Coach at Heartland Vineyard Church. Travis enjoys observing life and people, and encouraging others and leading others into lives more connected to themselves and others. In his free time, Travis appreciates following Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball, walking his dog Linford, exercise and quality time with friends and family.

*So many men in our community have been asking for a retreat like this and we are honored to have found incredible men to host! We hope you will join us for this unique experience!*
